
‘Nobody wants us…. Can you give us a home?’At OrganiPets we believe in supporting our local community. We proudly sponsor the West Oxford Animal Rescue. We supply them with all the food they need for the dogs and cats they look after, we help them with advertising and other publicity and we go and see them as often as we can. Who are they?The West Oxford Animal Rescue is made up of volunteers interested in the welfare of all animals. It was started by Janet Butler in the mid 1970s with the rescue of 2 small kittens. Since then many thousands of stray and injured animals have passed through the rescue. What do they do?Rescue –neglected or injured pets, stray or feral domestic animals, injured wild animals and birds. Treatment- transporting sick or injured animals to and from the vet, care of sick or post operative animals during recovery. Fostering and rehoming- find temporary homes for all animals within the rescue, permanently home domestic pets, re- socialise feral animals, release wild animals back into their environment. Advice and assistance- telephone advice for pet owners and wild animal injuries, database of information from vets and animal specialists, urgent veterinary care assistance, pet sitting for hospitalised owners, support for Social Services and other organisations.
